Senior Accountant – Compilations and Audit
Location: Remote (Serving Europe-based Clients)
Position Type: Permanent
Kula works with clients in the US and EU region (Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg, England) in various practice areas including but not limited to Assurance, Accounting & Advisory.
This role is a remote opportunity for those looking for a move-in that provides exposure to international clients in a new environment but wants to remain based in South Africa.
The role is primarily a work-from-home position but will require you to meet with your team occasionally.
Responsibilities will vary depending on the scope and nature of the engagement.
About the Position
The purpose of this role is to manage a client portfolio, ensuring the accurate and timely compilation of financial statements, tax calculations, and related audit tasks. The Senior Accountant may also assign work to team members, ensure deadlines are met, and provide on-the-job training for accountants. The role involves serving an array of Europe-based clients.
Responsibilities will vary depending on the scope and nature of the engagement.
- Compile financial statements
- Perform provisional and income tax calculations
- Conduct external audits
- Assign work to team members and ensure team objectives and deadlines are met
- Work under pressure and manage multiple tasks efficiently
- Maintain excellent communication with clients and colleagues
- Foster teamwork and strong interpersonal skills
- Conduct detailed reviews of team members’ work
- Degree in Accounting
- Completed SAICA/SAIPA articles (not required but advantageous)
Experience:
- 5 to 8 years of experience in accounting, with a focus on compilations and external audit
- In-depth knowledge of IFRS or IFRS for SMEs
- Experience with VAT & income tax calculations
- Microsoft Office
- CaseWare
- Draftworx
- Sage, Xero experience (advantageous but not required)
